Learn Soccer Positions Rules Plays in 24 Hours eBook Mirsad Hasic

I coach a U9 boys team and got this book initially for explaining positions. This book, does a good job telling you what each specific position is, where they are on kick-off, characteristics, some general traits of the type of players that would fit well into the role and a general idea of what the duties are of said position. The only thing I would have like to have seen is maybe a shaded area on the field diagram of where each position covers. Some younger players can use a visual aide of where they need to be going/covering. Mirsad also correlates a professional player in the respective position that he's explaining, which is a good example for anyone trying to learn said position. You can go find any of the players he mentions on youtube and see exactly how they play.

This book does much more than explain positions though. Mirsad explains the basic and main rules of soccer, which are a must for any young or new player....and sometimes older ones could use a reminder. He illustrates the rules w/ diagrams and pictures so that his point is made very clear and there is no room for misinterpretation. I actually used his book to explain the "off-side" rule to my U9 Boys, which seems to be one of the most difficult rules for parents, players and coaches to grasp.

Mirsad also lays out the the field, again with well illustrated diagrams, the field size and dimensions, size of all the penalty areas, goal box, ect.., number of players on field, equipment from shin guards to balls....just a lot of basic stuff that players, parents or coaches new to the games, may not know about. Fouls and Misconduct are covered in this book, along with game officials and how those fouls are called and/or punished in a game.

One section I found really helpful and interesting were the basic soccer plays. In this section Mirsad covers some basic soccer plays that can be looked at in their simplest form and then be built upon for more complicated plays later, but these basics give the reader a foundation place to start and see how the game is actually played out on the field. Some things covered here are Wall passes (give n go), Through Balls, Making runs to open space....again, very well explained and with drawn out illustrations.

This is a book that I would say, you would came back to as a reference and not just read it once and shelve it. In fact I don't just read it in order....I jump from section to section and actually use the book as a teaching tool.

Learn Soccer Positions Rules Plays in 24 Hours eBook Mirsad Hasic Reviews

I have been coaching for some time and look at a lot of products. I deal with a lot of young / new players and this book is very good at relating to this level and even was fun for me to read. This is very good for for parents to read.
Seems a good resource for someone who knows little of the game, like myself. The editing/translation is poor and would make it difficult for younger readers to grasp.
It is an OK rag. I would emphasize what others have said the translation (from Italian I believe) to English is, on a scale from 1 to 10, a "4". It's distracting. If the translation was smoothed out I think it would be a three star effort.
Hasic breaks down the soccer field by position and explains the duties and requirements of all. An excellent guide for a young player or a coach looking to get the most out of his team and his formations.
This explains the game of soccer on a level that a lobotomized monkey could figure out the basics of the game.
If you are a total rookie to soccer and want to understand the game quickly, this book is for you
A decent editor could make these books 3 star worthy. As it stands these books by Mirsad just don't work.
